I Will Forever Wax Poetic About This Dark Spot-Fading Serum
My skin has never been very temperamental, but I do occasionally encounter random pimples, whether caused by stress or a lack of sleep. While dealing with the active breakouts themselves is annoying, I find the dark spots they sometimes leave behind especially bothersome. My go-to toner from Fenty Skin combined with raw African shea butter has never steered me wrong, but I've found something to make stubborn spots vanish even quicker: Topicals Faded Brightening & Clearing Serum ($38).
Because my skin is super sensitive, I usually use only three products, five at max, in my daily routine. That said, I've quickly learned that my skin requires extra attention during the winter (did someone say ash?). Because my skin type falls in the normal to oily category, I've always been cautious with layering products. Fortunately, Topicals Faded Serum is weightless and works to make hyperpigmentation disappear while keeping my skin ash-free.
I've always been a Topicals fan (its undereye masks helped me kiss my dark circles goodbye in just days), so I had high hopes for this serum.

What I Like About the Topicals Faded Serum
I won't lie: I was a little hesitant to include this serum in my regimen, but I'm so glad I did. Apart from my natural apprehension for lengthy skin routines, the serum's sulfur-like smell isn't the most pleasant, but once applied, my skin felt so incredbily soft. Thanks to staple skin-care ingredients like shea butter and jojoba seed oil, it hydrates and soothes skin while conveniently working with other products in my routine. Kojic acid and licorice root brighten and exfoliate, eliminating dark spots and discoloration and preventing new acne from popping up. The best part of all is that this serum really works, fast.
How to Use the Topicals Faded Serum
While applying the Faded Serum to dry, cleansed skin is recommended, I've discovered that putting it on after my toner and face oil works best for my skin's needs. All you need is about a dime-size amount — enough to cover the area of skin with a thin layer — to treat your hyperpigmentation. Normally, I dab it on my forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin, then proceed to rub it in as needed. New users should start using it once a week and gradually work it into a daily routine.
What to Consider Before Trying the Topicals Faded Serum
If your skin gets dry in the wintertime like mine, it's worth noting that while the serum is creamy, you'll likely want to pair it with other moisturizing products. It's also recommended that you don't use the Faded Serum with AHAs, BHAs, or retinol.
Where Is the Topicals Faded Serum Available?
