The Expert Edit features interviews with specialists about the products they swear by in their chosen field. For the latest installment, we spoke to on-camera host, writer, and dog mom Lara Eurdolian about the products she depends on to care for her pet.

Lara Eurdolian has worked in beauty, lifestyle, and fashion media for over 10 years, but is now equally known for being a dog mom to her Pomeranian Charlie, who she met at Coachella while participating in her hotel's pet adoption program. When she discovered how difficult it is for senior dogs to find homes, she was all in on 10-year-old Charlie, who she brought home to nurture back to health. Inspired by their love story, she wrote "Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel," a celebrated children's book with a forward by Charlie's godmother and iconic American costume designer Patricia Field.

For Charlie's 18th birthday this April, Eurdolian and Field came together to host the Senior Dog Rescue Runway Show at Flying Solo in Soho, NYC. At the event, Field dropped a new collection for Kiss the Dogs NYC — a line she has exclusively carried in her store and ArtFashion gallery since 2013. "Patricia and I have been close for a decade and she has a very special relationship with Charlie," Eurdolian tells PS. "She was like, 'If you plan it, I'll do the fashion,'" subsequently crafting an incredible "Charlie Bradshaw" tutu dress for Charlie to open the runway in. (Of course, if you're familiar with the original "Sex and the City" series, you know Field was behind the iconic opening credits with Carrie in a pink bodysuit and tiered white tutu.)

"Patricia Field sitting front row while Charlie strutted in his 'Charlie Bradshaw' tutu shirt was a proud moment. This is a dog that no one wanted at 10 years old, and now at 18 is in a room of over 150 tastemakers and media (including Nicky Hilton), trying to help more dogs get rescued. It's a moment I'll never forget," Eurdolian says, also fondly recalling the custom Kiss the Dogs NYC for Patricia Field ArtFashion black and white ruffled top Charlie wore to walk her down the aisle. "James Suozzi, the designer behind the one-of-a-kind Kiss the Dogs NYC collection, even had it embroidered for Charlie. There's a photo of my husband and I on our wedding day holding Charlie in the NY Times and I have it framed. It means so much to me that he was my best man."

Needless to say, Eurdolian's experience planning events with adoption agencies, charity organizations, and fashion industry insiders has sharpened her knowledge about pet needs and must haves, from stylish accessories to essential everyday products. Ahead, she breaks down her picks for top-notch dog parenting.

Dog Pajamas

Dog Pajamas

Dog Pajamas For Small Dog ($12)

"Charlie has a lot of cute silk/satin PJs from Amazon. The polka-dot style and classic black are my go-tos. We did a Pomeranian PJ party when the book first launched and it makes me think of that day. I ended up ordering more because they were great for warmer temperatures, so Charlie doesn't get too hot. Charlie didn't have a lot of body hair when we rescued him, and I wanted to get back that Pomeranian fluff, so a big part of that was putting him in clothes when we went outside to protect his skin from the sun."

Dog Water Bottle

Dog Water Bottle

Kalimdor Dog Water Bottle ($12)

"The two-in-one water holder and dog bowl makes your life so much easier. It's compact and always in Charlie's bag since he gets thirsty a lot."

Dog Tuxedo

Dog Tuxedo

Qidelong Pet Wedding Suit Formal Tuxedo With Black Bow Tie ($14)

"Charlie has two tuxedos that he wears to all black tie events. One is a full suit, and the other Velcroes around his neck ($14), so depending on the weather, he's set! He actually hosted the red carpet for Milkbone at the Streamy Awards and the tux was a hit!"

Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel

Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel ($18)

"Because of Charlie I got more involved in adoption, volunteering, and fostering. And when we wrote his children's book, I wanted to donate a portion of the proceeds and, instead of a conventional book tour, work with shelters to have Charlie's legacy be about helping others. We hosted his book launch party at Animal Haven, and for his 18th birthday party partnered with them and two other rescue organizations, Gatto Pups & Friends and PupStarz Rescue, to do the rescue dog fashion show birthday featuring adoptable dogs (mostly seniors!)."

Charity Donation

Animal Haven Donation ($25-$1,000)

"When you start volunteering and going to adoption events you get a sense of the community they build. Animal Haven does such incredible work, and it's been an amazing experience for me working with them. They have a gala, which I attended last year and was so impressed that I asked to get more involved. There are so many incredible rescue organizations, but I like to be very hands on, so I tend to work with local shelters.

I also love Gatto Pups and Friends (based out of Long Island). It was started by Joe and Bessy Gatto, who have done so much for senior dogs and also support so many shelters in NYC. I've been so blessed to watch them in action and their activism and support of animals is so inspiring to me.

On a national scale, I am obsessed with Best Friends. We often make donations on behalf of friends who have lost their best friends and they send a letter that a donation was made in their pet's memory, which always means a lot to the parents. They do incredible work!"

Wide Raised Food Bowl

Wide Raised Food Bowl

Necoichi Extra Wide Raised Cat Food Bowl ($26)

"Charlie's cat bowl! He's small and has some spinal issues, so having an elevated food bowl really helps him!"

Hip and Joint Supplement

Hip and Joint Supplement

Wuffes Chewable Dog Hip and Joint Supplement ($39)

"I always recommend adding a glucosamine supplement to your dog's diet if they show signs of arthritis or weak joints. We have used and loved many brands, and saw amazing results with a powder form in his food. However, now that Charlie is on so many medications and becoming a picky eater, I wanted a supplement he could eat like a treat instead, and Charlie loves the taste of this one."

Puppy Pads

Puppy Pads

Pet Life Smart Prints Extra Large Puppy Pads ($45, originally $48)

"These come in so many sizes. I actually love the XL ones because it covers Charlie's whole area and I don't have to worry about him missing. They have an odor-control fragrance that releases when he uses it and it never smells. It's amazing!"

Dog Car Seat
amazon.com

Dog Car Seat

Lesure Small Dog Car Seat for Small Dogs ($53)

"It took me a long time to get a carrier for the car – I used to use his dog beds. An actual car seat keeps them from flying around or potentially falling off the seat. And Charlie loves it. If we go to people's homes I bring it in and he sleeps so well in it."

Dog Backpack Carrier

Dog Backpack Carrier

Kenneth Cole Reaction Collapsible Travel Pet Carrier Soft Multi-Entry Folding Portable Kennel Crate ($56, originally $110)

"This was a game changer for us since I love to bike and be active. When I travel, it's also so helpful to have my hands free and not have to hold Charlie and my luggage. He loves it, and when we go to restaurants, he just sleeps in it."

Air Purifier
amazon.com

Air Purifier

Blueair Air Purifier ($332)

"We have both a Dyson and Blueair air purifier, and it's a game changer for dogs with allergies or weak tracheas (he used to be a big cougher). You really can't go wrong with clean air for humans or dogs."
